Heritage Studies
The academic book series Heritage Studies was initiated as a constituent element of the Heritage Studies Institute when it was founded in 2014. So far, 12 books have been published, which have succeeded in creating a new scientific and sustainable perspective on the heritage of mankind https://heritagestudies.eu/category/veroeffentlichungen/buecher/reihe-heritage-studies/.
From 2014 to 2023, the series focussed on the topics of World Heritage, Intangible Heritage and Documentary Heritage. In order to do justice to the diversity of our world, the focus of the series was expanded in 2024 to include the global diversity of our heritage. The background and aim of this expansion of the Heritage Studies approach was justified by the fact that the sustainability of heritage, especially in its relevance to identity, peace and environmental protection, can only be understood and implemented in the context of its global interpretations. The series has since become an international highlight with requests for publications from authors from all over the world.
