About the BeKi

With the con­clusion of the "Quality Agreement for Daycare Fa­ci­lities – QVTAG", the then Senate De­partment for Edu­cation, Science and Re­search and the as­so­cia­tions of daycare pro­viders agreed on a system of me­a­sures to ensure the on­going quality de­ve­lo­pment of all daycare fa­ci­lities in Berlin on the basis of the Berlin Edu­cation Pro­gramme (BBP).

At the end of May 2008, the then Senate De­partment for Edu­cation, Science and Re­search com­mis­sioned INA to support, mo­nitor and eva­luate the im­ple­men­tation of these me­a­sures and the quality de­ve­lo­pment process of the daycare centres.

Field of activity

The BeKi fulfils the fol­lowing tasks as part of its remit:

  • BeKi sup­ports the de­ve­lo­pment of the concept on the basis of the BBP by making re­com­men­da­tions for its further development,
  • BeKi trains a needs-based number of mul­ti­pliers to support the in­ternal eva­luation of the BBP,
  • BeKi en­sures that suf­fi­cient ca­pacity is available for the im­ple­men­tation of the ex­ternal eva­luation in ac­cordance with the edu­ca­tional pro­gramme by pro­fes­sio­nally sui­table providers,
  • BeKi coor­di­nates the timing of the ex­ternal eva­luation in ac­cordance with the QVTAG gui­de­lines and en­sures that it is carried out to a high standard,
  • BeKi ana­lyses the on­going quality de­ve­lo­pment pro­cesses, eva­luates their suc­cesses, pro­blems and obs­tacles and makes the re­sults available to the QVTAG agreement partners, the dis­trict youth welfare of­fices and pro­viders for the tar­geted ma­nagement of the further process,
  • BeKi en­sures con­ti­nuous, tar­geted com­mu­ni­cation between all stake­holders in the quality de­ve­lo­pment process and en­sures that all those in­volved can obtain the ne­cessary information.

Every daycare centre needs its own daycare centre concept.
